Winding Creek Outfitters offers exciting Dove Hunting opportunities. Strategically located in the central flyway, Winding Creek’s intensively managed property attracts large numbers of Mourning Dove in September and October and is one of the main attractions of our ranch.
Upland Bird Hunts
Upland Bird Hunting at Winding Creek Outfitters provides hunters with the opportunity to choose from several different types of bird hunting. We offer the more adventuresome hunter, an exciting Mixed Bag of Pheasant, Quail and Chukar Hunting. We also offer a unique Quail Covey Hunt. For groups of 4 or more, Winding Creek Outfitters offers driven Pheasant Hunting Shoots. Several times a year, these shoots are also offered as open hunts. This allows everyone a chance to experience Upland Bird Hunting like driven Pheasant Hunting at its best.

WEST TEXAS WATERFOWL HUNT
Our world-class waterfowl guides will deliver West Texas waterfowl hunting and memories to last a lifetime. We offer both Ducks and Sandhill Cranes. If you have never experienced Sandhill Cranes it is a “bucket list” hunt! You will be hunting from a-frame ground and layout blinds and our guides will put out decoy sets, coupled with their calling skills, that will drive the birds in. Most of our Hunters limit out!

Hunt Details:
- Arrive Friday evening
- Saturday morning hunt with an optional afternoon “make-up” hunt if you don’t achieve your limit
- Sunday morning hunt
- Waterfowl $750 per gun with a minimum of 6 guns
- Sandhill Cranes $1,000 per gun with a minimum of 6 guns
Hog Hunts
If you want to enjoy the adrenaline rush associated with hunting free-ranging hogs, Winding Creek Outfitters offers lifelong memories. Whether you want to spot and stalk, hunt over a feeder, or experience hunting hogs at night with thermal optics and night vision with our world-class guides, we offer a wide range of experiences. This hunt can be combined with other hunting packages and is a great post season hunt.

Winding Creek Outfitters is conveniently located in Jones County, 40 miles North of Abilene, TX and is licensed by Texas Parks and Wildlife as a Private Bird Hunting Area.
Winding Creek Outfitters (formerly the Rockin E Ranch) has been serving hunters from across the country with world class Dove Hunting since 1999.
In February of 2020, the Royer family acquired the ranch to fulfill a lifelong dream to own a ranch and grow it into a world-class Outfitter. As a result of the support of his wife Natasa and five daughters, Mr. Royer was able to fulfill that vision with Winding Creek focused exclusively on the hunter’s experience. That commitment is validated by investments made in the ranch, new accommodations, gourmet meals, live entertainment and most importantly backed up by best in class wing shooting. In addition to offering walk-up and driven Pheasant and Quail hunts year-round with no limit, we offer trophy Turkey and Wild Boar hunts. The ranch also features a 750 yard rifle range with reactive steel targets, benches and a shaded concrete Firing Line.

Our ranch has a spacious club house where you can relax and reflect on the days experience with your hunting buddies while making new friends. We have a large covered gathering area where you can enjoy an amazing West Texas sunrise or sunset or watch your favorite team play on one of our outdoor big screen TVs. From time-to-time our guests have been know to engage in a game of cards or spend some time on our Craps table. Our guest houses can accommodate up to 27 hunters.
